The nonprofit Love Thy Neighbor Foundation coordinates and shares information on community resources to enhance the quality of life for seniors in Milwaukee County. Counselors can offer help with long-term care planning and accurate information on local resources including transportation and respite care. The Milwaukee County Department on Aging provides free, confidential counseling regarding long-term care options and public and private benefits. To qualify, seniors must be aged 60 or older, or disabled, and unable to prepare their own meals or travel to a community dining site. Meals are delivered at noontime, Monday through Friday. The Meals on Wheels program delivers hot, nutritious low-cost meals to homebound Milwaukee residents.
